Flatheads on the Mon

Where is a good spot to fish for flatheads on the Mon? I live in Belle Vernon,anywhere close to my area?

    Where is a god spot near Belle Vernon to try for some flatcats?

    Near a dam or any structure you can find.
    They move.. So its anybodys guess.

    Anywhere, they are all through the river. Just gotta find em.

    Lock 4 is near you. It wouldn't be a bad idea to try below it.

    I always heard that the river below the lock in Elizabeth held them. And that they are big ones.

    I just fished there last week. All small channels being caught. I am sure there are big ones in any part of the river at times. I personally seen pictures of two that were caught half way between Elizabeth and Glassport near the Clairton Coke Works that were huge. Don't know any measurements but, they were bigguns.

    Although it has been years since I have fished for them,I have caught them right behind the lock in Charlaroi,also near the PFBC launch in Elizabeth & on the wharf at Mon. city.At that time the wharf had the easiest access & you could catch almost anything there including eyes & Muski.  sam
