2013 River Sweep

This year's River Sweep for the Ohio River and some of its tribs will be held on Saturday June 15th from 8-noon. If you live to the north of Pittsburgh, I can tell you of 2 cleanup sites. One is at the Leetsdale Fish and Boat Commission boat launch and the other one is at the Kilbuck Fish and Boat Commission boat launch in Glenfield. If anyone is interested we would welcome the help. I went down to the ohio by little sewickley creek yesterday and it looked like a dump. I usually remember to take a garbage bag or two but I forgot, but there were enough plastic grocery bags laying around for me to use. There was also a blanket that got to close to the fire and was burned a little so it was left there. I picked all the trash, threw it in the middle of the blanket and drug to my car and took it home. The fish commission could make a bundle in fines and maybe make the slobs think twice about littering if they spent one day down there. I'm glad to see they finally put a guardrail in to keep the really lazy asses from driving down.
