trail cam pics have been pretty disappointing this year so far. I havent seen any fawns. Only seen 1 young buck and the same few does.

I saw trail cam photos yesterday of a huge bobcat crossing an oil lease road and a coyote carrying a fawn down the same road close to where I live.

We have a couple hard core trappers in the area but apparently they missed a few. I can see where someone not very familiar with bobcats and lions could mistake that one for a small one.  The photo was sure impressive.

WF= went down to the house I am refurbishing here in CT and planning to move into during the Summer- Small 8uck in velvet right in the back yard nipping on apple trees.
      Was pouring rain too.
Only neighbor says he has been seeing as many as 7 an evening there the past few weeks.

    WF,
Been dodging deer daily on my commute to work in the AM.  The earlier I leave in the AM, the more deer I see.

Had a little 1.5 yr old stop on the berm yesterday and he let me pull up right next to him.  He was maybe 5 yards away.

I have a pic of a doe in my back yard and she is ready to explode. Haven't seen any fawns yet on any of my cam or around on my walks. I did see 3 buck in a group by work on Tuesday and 1 was a 6 already. I'm going to carry my camera with me and see if I can get a pic of him.

I just found a place to buy high quality A-1 forage grass so I expect my food plots to be hit hard this year.

Hope to be in the 'new' house in about 3 weeks. The next door neighbor hadda fold up his large garden due to Deer eating everything but the eggplants.
    What a great problem.

Sounds like you might get into sum deer this year RG. Deer been tearin up my food plot everyday. The babies must of hatched late this year. Mummas been bringing them to the food plot and they are hammerin the clover. i seen 3 buck, two scrubs and a barely legal 8 point.

The rut didnt seem to be as HOT as usual this year or last here. That generally indicates one of those 'trickle' ruts IMHO . They  seem to result in some very late breeding and Fawn drops.
Heck there is a small  evergreen in my backyard up in Pulaski NY that was rubbed hard and killed sometime after  late Dec last season.
There were twins  out back at my place in Ct the other day that looked almost new.
