Erie Saftey Boating Check Event

I was wondering if anybody has any info, or that can direct me to where to find that info.  I have some life preservers that could be exchanged... It would be nice if I could get my flares exchanged as well provided that they are exchanging them this year.

If you've never lit one of the marine flares I would suggest burning one of your old ones, just so you know what to expect when you do have to light one. They are much like a road flare but with more smoke and they don't last very long... I keep my old flares on board as well...

I keep my old flares in the boat as well.  I shot one off once to see what it would do.  a bit of advice: make sure you're over water when you do.  They burn for 7 seconds but only fly for about 5 seconds.  I thought I was gonna catch my neighbor's house on fire.......it landed on their roof!

Never light a flair while out on the water or ever launch an aerial flair on the water unless you are in distress.
Use handhelds to light your camp fire, aerials use with extreme caution inland or let them soak in water.
