Port Clinton

What is the best time of year to jig/drift for walleye there? I'm thinking about a head boat for walleye. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

Thank you. Any advice as far as lures, baits, etc would be appreciated as well.

Well, I got a full limit of walleye, but I'm the only one on the boat that did. There were 16 of us. One guy caught 4.  A couple folks caught three and a few went home with one fish. Half of us didn't catch a single walleye.

I tied all of my own harnesses so I was prepared with most color schemes. Purple demon out-produced all other colors. Hopefully this report helps someone.

The only time that we went was late May drifting "Dearies" and did very well on the charters. Everybody got their two day limit for 4 consecutive years from 2 different Captains. Several of us tried the scopolamine patches and felt awful, very drowsy, but never threw up. As there wasn't a 1st Mate, we tipped the Captain very well; a Master catalog to Cabela's, a $50 gift card [this was 30 years ago], deer sausage and as much of our beer that he wanted to drink. We limited out so quick every time that he gave us the option of going in early or going to the Bass Islands for Smallmouth Bass. The SMB action was fast and furious with many of them that had respectable weights.

30 years ago you could have went drunk, blind and stupid and still got fish, now its a work out sometimes color, speed size, weather line size, line color, drift speed anchor or no anchor and last years numbers are not going to work seems like you need to go back 2 to 4 years ago even the noise from a motor has a issue but dam I want to kick the screws and beat on some fish  its coming
