Flathead Structure

Well I got all the stuff for it, now I have to go and find them. I was going to try either the lock in Charleroi or the one in Maxwell. When fishing the locks, do you fish downstream of it or upstream of it? I will be fishing from shore so is the any difference in access? Any other decent places to start out at, or should I spend a few nights trying to find a decent place. Thanks

I would also like to be able to fish for other species there, could care less what but I need to keep myself busy while I wait.

Yes I did know that, I was hoping to go out, at the moment we are, but if the water is still cold we won't be, I do know they are not cold water fish at all

Downstream of the dam is better. Creek mouths are good too. Along with outside bends in the river. You may find the current too strong right below the dam. If you don't have 6-8oz sinkers Don't be afraid to take a walk down stream a bit to where the current slows some. You'll usually find a current seam somewhere below the dam, try there too.

I mainly fish just below the dams, bridge supports and deep holes. Not saying fish arent at other areas on the rivers but thats personally what I fish the most. Fish live and if you dont get a run after an hour or so cut the belly open and give it a shot.
