Although it is nice and there is NO wind I cannot find anyone to go with me today.   I do not like going on the boat alone.   I will play sour grapes and say it will be bad fishing today due to the bad weather and lack of chop on the water

Got out this afternoon on oneida, lake was flat and the bite stunk! Marked most of the fish off lewis point and made 3 long trolls from bouy 115 towards the lighthouse. Got two small bites and never set the hook after 3 hours gave up. Hate fishing mid afternoon but this year Ill take it when I can get it.

Guess ill show myself again. Been fishing local for trout in the greene county area and with the increased water flow from day after day of rain, been hammering browns on a consistant basis on garden hackle. Some breaking the 20" mark. Love that high murky water. Was able to put two stripers in the freezer earlier before they finished up, both about 32"s. Thats about it for now. More storms coming and a friend of mine lost a brown in the upper 20"s so more streams to hit and trout to harass. Btw, already getting the salmon gear repaired and ready. Its like a disease.

At least you out out John.  Between the wind the rain and not having a partner I have been home the past 2 weekends.   I may have something planned for this weekend though

Well getting ready to pack up the car and hit the road to spend a week in Narragansett, RI.  The only fishing gear I'm taking is my Lami 8wt and a bunch of saltwater streamers.  Hope to nail a striper or two in the suds at Narragansett Pier town beach and Point Judith Refuge near the light house.  Later......

Re:Summer time fishing adventures 2013/06/23 18:44:53 (permalink)
Well here is the update some good, some bad. some ugly.   Got to the launch and the boat started died and then would not fire.   Luckily 2 shots of starting fluid got it running good (**** ethanol).   Since it was nice decided to venture out and look for a few things.   Went right out to bouey 115 looking for Bilnd isle but could not find it,  so we went down to 113 and fished Messanger shoals for a bit.   Kind of going slow if we marked fish we would stop and jig for a few.  My buddy missed one hit.  Got to Messangers fished around there for a while my buddy got 3 bass and one was pretty good size.   Went into the north shore and fished what I guess was Eaton shoals on a very low drift.   My buddy got 2 more bass 2 large perch and 4 slab gills.   I picked up some slab gills and a big white perch along with some dink perch for the both of us.   The Sunfish had to weight a lb a piece.       Now the ugly.  Right after we got he boat trailered  I started feeling bad, by the time we got to Burger king I was ready to heave and had to run in for the seated death.    Got home and BARELY made it in the house for round 2.   I slept  all day on and off and just got the boat in the garage.

So I was going to go to Henderson Harbor today for some perch, but that was OUT OF THE QUESTION.

True to form , A report from Clint.. Thanks for sharing.. Sometimes the word "Sucks" works well.. I agree , that garbage e-fuel is just not friendly to anyone yet.
Nice gill.. Gosh I would be all over them deep fried nuggets.. My last adventure they were all dinks but it was about the smile :)

Got good reports from the ADK's while I worked the weekend.. Think a little trip soon is in order ..
Anyway here was what my 7am-3pm shift looked like today.:(
In a cave 75' up pushing material to the light.. At least A/C worked and tunes were smokin

The view was much better by 4pm:

No suck face today but 1 dogfish on fly and 2 on bread..:

The shade was great and the beer always cold :)

I noticed the algae too (how could you miss it).   I may only get out 1 or 2 more times in July, will have to make the most of it.  Spinners only  are like 59 cents at All Seasons so I am  thinking of tying some up as it is about $1 in materials for 4$$ retail.  Already got the beads and line.  I do have one almost like that though.

Hey guys sorry for late response. Tried once and somehow it got aborted
Anyway great pics as always John . Seems the fishing has been good to you wish I could say the same. Keep em coming guys , it really is great seeing everyone's adventures :)

Mine are pretty slow at the moment. Back on the graveyard shift and feel pretty dead by 7am.
Local carp creek is pretty blown out and haven't had the ambition to hit a pond/ lake.
Hoping for a change tomorrow with All the grandkids fishing - swimming at a state park :)
Agin, be well , keep the thread going as long as possible because fall is coming soon ..

A nice week in Narragansett, RI.  Hazy, hot and humid with t-storms later in the week but it was great to get away.
Booked a charter on the Sakarak and Capt. Mitch Chagnon on Tuesday and took a mix of stripers, blues and fluke.  Boated a half dozen stripers, a dozen blues trolling umbrella rigs near the south west corner of Block Island.  Nothing big but managed to put four stripers in the box along with a couple blues.  Later that morning we fished inshore for fluke near New Harbor.  The pick was steady but once again nothing big.  We boated about three dozen fluke and kept many under the Captain's commercial license.  I kept six for the dinner table (they are already gone).

Sounds great Gerry and some good eats, nothing finer than fresh seafood!
I have nothing to report as I have n't wet a line.I took the dogs for a walk along the Little Lehigh this morning and the Tricos were thick and the trout were rising but they, the trout, are dinks and I'm spoiled by the North country where they are measured in pounds instead of inches.

Today I got to fish with a good buddy John and his son John so there were 3 Johns and we kicked the snot out of the eyes. Johnny fought everyone except a few I brought in and a few his dad did. Probably boated 30 and kept are limit of 9 which I sent home with them for their family diner tonight, johnny was pretty excited about eating a fish that he cought.

still the hottest color.

small eye and some nasty alge, the bite is always best when the alge is the worst.

are catch

this is in front of the marina its a huge slick of logs trees and crap from oneida creek from all the flooding
