yellow creek lake

I went to the lake to-day for Northerns, landed 6 short ones. don't know if the water is still too cold for them or not, but the bullgills that I have been catching fought way harder than these pike did. 1 or 2 headshakes then they came in upside down.  sam

That is one of my favorite lakes in the area.  I've got to get out there soon.  Thanks for the info Sam.

I've been trolling around Yellow Creek all fall. Marked some good spots where fish consistently school up.

haha. No. I was pulling worm harnesses and rapalas. I didn't have time to stop and jig for them. Figured that they were either crappie or bluegills. Picked up a few bass outside of the schools, though.

I just got a new boat that I'm now able to troll with so I'm mostly just sightseeing to see what Yellow Creek looks like. I only live 15 mins away.

I only asked because I spent my fair share of time trolling around that lake, while camping at the cabins. I have come across some nice schools of fish with no takers quite a few times. I figured they had to be crappie as well. I have done well casting the shore for pike and smallies, but not much luck trolling at all. Yellow creek is a beautiful lake, and it receives a lot less pressure than other PA lakes. Good luck out there, I hope you get into some willing fish.

I drifted the shoreline one afternoon after I didn't pick anything up while trolling. Picked up some smallies casting jigs. Nothing of size, but it was a good day.

I saw another boat trolling. I don't know if they had any luck. I'd like to figure that lake out since it's so close to home.
