yumbrella rig

On all the tv shows the pros catch a lot of bass on these rigs , but I want to know are they legal in Pa . since you have more than 2 hooks on a rod ? Thanks for your input .

How many hooks are allowed in PA. I don't know off hand. If it is two, then just snip three of the hooks off and just use three with hooks. Snip off two closer to the main body. Leave the hooks on the ones near the back of the rig. You should fish them with a baitcaster with some heavy line if you don't know that. Those rigs are pretty heavy. I have talked to my uncle that fishes a lot of the amateur bass tournaments in TN and he said they definitely catch fish.

If your rig has 5 legs then you can put lures on three of them and put spinner blades on the other 2 for attracters. 3 hook total (they can be treble hooks as on a stickbait).

Can also buy them with just three wires for 3 hooks/swim baits.  Honestly, never caught a thing off them in PA and neither has alot of the guys I know that tourney fish.  I'd rather just run a single swim bait and save myself $10-15 bucks with more productive results from my past experiences.   Just a suggestion!  Good luck!

I gave the tripod a shot and it just wasn't worth it. Seems like a good idea, but about 1/3rd of the time one of the baits will get tangled/ wrapped up with the rig after casting and it won't present like it's supposed to. Also 3 times the hooks means 3 times the snags. Granted the hooks are small and bend easy, I eventually lost it on a snag. Never got a single bite either when it was presenting normally. Waste of $12.

You can try cutting the hooks off two jig hads and glueing the swimbait to it. I put those "dummies" on the top two wires and run the three swimbaits with hooks on the bottom wires. Have caught a few, but nothing like Guntersville, Pickwick, etc. Just ordered a 3 arm rig with blades built onto it, we'll see how it does. Should be easier to cast
