Magic Products cut shad

Sorry about posting this here but the catfish section seems dead. Has anyone tried the Magic Products cut shad that they sell on FishUSA? I have never heard of them. I plan on hitting some of the pay lakes and a few of the local lakes around here this year for catfish and wondered if they work. I used to fish the Mon years ago near Glassport but, I haven't fished for catfish in years. In my later years I primarily fished for trout and panfish but recently have started fishing a lot more. Any info is always appreciated.

Keep fishing for trout and panfish, and cut 'em up for the cats.  Or use the panfish whole.

Been many years since I fished hard for cats, but cut or whole fish always outproduced packaged baits by a wide margin.  Although if it was at one time real, live shad it might work pretty well.

    I agree with rsquared,
keep some of the smaller panfish as catfish bait, it's always worked well for me when I fish for cats. In my experience live panfish such as bluegill, sunfish and so on work better for Flathead Cats as they are hunters.
Stink baits and cut baits work better for channels and bullheads.

    good luck!

Thank you. I am itching to get out soon. As for using the small gills that I catch, that shouldn't be a problem. Seems like fishing from shore, the majority of my panfish are small. Can't wait to get a boat.
