The death of winter approaches....who's geared up?

Looks like tomorrow should be the last of the crap weather....50s and 60s, then after this weekend we shouldn't be seeing much more nights colder than 45 degrees...time to get those lakes and rivers warmed up.

I haven't wet my line since November. Spent a good amount of time over the winter stocking up on lures and baits, couple new rods and reels and a new bigger tacklebag. Here's the arsenal so far, can't wait to get out next week!

I'd need a bigger table if I wanted to do that... Good collection to cover a lot of water though.

Same here, although the majority of what I consistently catch fish on could probably fit in one or two small boxes, but you never know right?

2 bags which equates to about 8-10 3700 size boxes I can cover every species of freshwater fish with lures and have probably a half a bag full of live bait gear... It doesn't help that I am looking yo build a box of Mega bass 110s, 110jr (when available and some X80s. =/ I have a problem I think...

Mags I have that same problem, I can never get enough, I just want to build a box or boxes for every species. Always new lures and always more to buy, even if it's never used because the go to's are so hard to get away from.

Skeelol, I just picked up 10 new Hot n' Tot's and 8 New wiggle warts to add to my arsenal. Also numerous crappie lures, jigs, and some worm harnesses. I can't wait to finish my boat and get out.

Every winter, I tell myself that I have more than enough fishing gear, and not going to buy anything new.  Every winter I end up "wanting to try something new" or "that's a great deal" or "that lure looks deadly".  This one was looking good, until it was extended by a month with the weather, now, just like any other...  I have 2 x 28 gallon storage tubs filled with misc. fishing gear much still in original boxes, others haven't been touched in 15 years, others are boxes that I transfer out per where/when I am going.  To go along with my boat box that holds 4 of those larger plastic boxes and a pretty large main unit that is stuffed.  I have my wading bag, fishing vest and wading jacket both with pockets filled.  A few smaller boxes in my truck for the "wow, that place looks pretty fishy".  At last count, I have 25 fishing rods, and eyeing up a new surf rod for this year.  I also have two 5 gallon or so tubs filled with fly tying materials, and 3-4 boxes with lure crafting supplies and tools.  I'm sure next winter won't be any different, maybe even worse if I get my workshop though.

Check out the guys over at www.tackletour.com and scope out the forums. Its a great resource and they provide a TON of info on a lot of the latest/greatest gear... Maybe you'll be able to avoid the temptation of the dark side...

Cool. I can't wait to try out my new Cabela's HDS swimbaits. I also have some of these hand poured baits on the way, most realistic looking things I've ever seen:

Those hand poured ones look really cool.  I'd be shocked if they didn't catch fish.  But, I have thought the same about other lures before.

Well Blue the guys at Tackle Tour are just informants to the next level and realm of fishing.  (The addiction side) as I call it.   If you avoid the websites that sell things you can avoid spending the $$$ but just to oogle at times is nice.  Plus the information/knowledge presented there is very helpful and you'll probably learn something new if you are willing to try things.

2 new rods, 1 new reel, respooled 4 reels, 1 trip to Cabelas, 1 trip to D1cks Sporting Goods, went thru all of my tackle, stocked up on a few hard to find plastics, and the boat is ready to launch on short notice....READY!

Vision 110 Jrs. and x80 Magnums are available on ebay. But be careful with who you order from. I've currently ordered about 12 jrs. and only received 5. They don't keep their quantities up to date.

Also I'm a big Tackle Tour fan myself, post a lot there. That site helped me discover Japan tackle.  I'm overstocked for this year. Couple new spinning combos - Dobyns / Shimano Stradic FJs, tons of Japan market lures for d-shot and jerkbaits. Oh and a Shimano Core. Probably should have put all that coin into a boat.

thunderpole...absolutely you need more than 1 of your favorite lure!!! What if you lose it!?! I troll on erie a lot, and some days there is one pattern that just outfishes everything and on days like that I want to be able to run 4 of the same exact lure if thats what the fish want!!!!  I probably bought 30-40 reef runners this winter just to have duplicates lol

I have 2-3 favorite lures, for each species/body of water/condition.

As for being an addict, no doubt.  Any time that I feel like it might be out of control, I just read some of the Erie walleye guys to make me feel better!  There are guys out there with more in electronics than I have in gear and boat combined.  Don't get me wrong, I plan to be there some day.

I ment the 110 Jr.s not the mags for the post...  I don't throw big baits like that...  I really want to buy 4-5 of the 110jrs but I can't see spending the $18 for EMS shipping and an additional $0.99 for each item after from Samurai Tackle.  There is another seller on Ebay who has them for $18-20 each but again same deal for shipping.  I guess I'll wait till they get sold here in the US... =/
