twin lakes opening day

Keystone State Park is similar to twin and imo has more accessible & productive shoreline.  They may have the boat rental open that opens up a lot more water.  
 
Northmoreland, also similar, is usually a zoo on opening day.  
 
A couple buddies and I are trying to fish every 'Mill Creek" in the state.  I think there are 3 in Jefferson county alone. 

There's no crowds on the yough for opening day?? And how is loyalhanna creek for trout fishing? i've never fished it before so idk where any of the holes are or what's in it. Thanks for any info!

Take a drive along Rt. 30 on opening day and you'll figure out where the holes are real quick.  It's stocked heavily with trout.  Also decent numbers of small mouth in some stretches.   
 
It's been about 10 or 12 years since I've fished the Loyalhanna, and I only fished it for a few years, so I'm far from an expert on it, but I really enjoyed the time I spent there.  Opening day is a circus at most easy access points, just like anywhere else on opening day.  If you're comfortable fishing the in between water, and fishing for smaller numbers of roaming trout than you would at the parking areas, then you can find some space on opening weekend and beyond.

Kooser on Route 31 is one of the better lakes in that general region. Loyalhanna is probably the best as far as stream fishing goes, and you have miles and miles of water and access. It's stocked heavily (and repeatedly) by the state, gets wash downs from the country club and also holds some wild fish from the upper stretches and tributaries. For a balance between pond and stream you could fish the dam on the stream where 217 and 30 intersect. Be prepared for crowds wherever you end up.

Tried out keystone today and my girlfriend landed 3 12"+ rainbows in about a half hour on the corn powerbait

I got nothing on my joe flies =( I got outfished by powerbait lol

I would like to fish Keystone and Twin Lakes. Not for first day. I have never fished either of those lakes. I always tend to go to the same lakes (Donegal, Virgin Run and Greenlick). I want to try some other lakes this year.

 
I haven't fished Twin Lakes much in the last 15 years, and it's probably been 2 or 3 years since I've even been there, but when I was in school at Pitt Greensburg I fished it 3 or 4 times a week from ice off through the end of May for a couple of years.
 
If trout fishing in lakes is your thing, it's stocked very well, and after opening weekend, there's plenty of space to get away from the crowds and find some good fishing.  Both Upper and Lower Twin are in the new regs and are open year 'round with catch and release right now.  Might be worth checking out before next weekend.
 
One of my favorite ways to fish for trout there was to rent a peddle boat at the lower lake and troll.  Was it you asking about Joe's Flies a few days ago?  Trolling Joe's Flies slowly behind one of those boats was one of my favorite ways to fish back in the day.  Hus Lures worked really well doing that too. 
 
Not sure how the bass situation is there these days, but at the right time of year, you could catch dozens of cookie cutter 12-14" bass a day walking around the lower lake with a spinner bait, with the occasional big one thrown in.
