Ct Bear Season proposal

   Just read where the State DEEP is proposing a first time Bear season here in CT.  $10 app fee and if you get picked in the lottery a $200 tag fee. Was surprised to see this.
    We have Bear and some nuisance ones too that get moved by the State from time to time. They say we likely have as many as 1,000 total population in this very small State so  would think the number of tags will be minimal.
  As have said before our State DEEP seems very Hunter friendly.
     The Legislature -although one of the most liberal states here- is mostly agreeing and letting DEEP call the environmental shots. The proposal easily passed the Environment committee and the bill will likely move on to the Legislature.
  Of course the Humane Society is fighting it.
