Walking access question

Are there any areas to fish from shore at High Point Lake or Yough Lake? I plan on taking a trip soon and don't want to drive 2 hours and not be able to fish. I am trying to target pike and probably crappie. Any advice would be appreciated. Feel free to pm me if you want. Thanks!

At High Point there are open areas on both sides of both launch's to fish from shore.  There are also several areas on the south side where you can park along the road and walk down a short ways to the lake.  One is about 200 yards to the west before the road down to the south launch.  Another is take the dirt road up toward the breast on the south side and go to where the gate is on the access road.  If it's open you can drive down to the breast and there are several areas to fish from shore.  I think it's locked till April but you can park and walk, it's not very far to the breast.

On the north side about another 200 yards past the launch there is another small parking lot.  The road shortly past there I believe is private.  There is also a couple spots at the shallow end where you can park and follow a trail down to the lake.  Unless you have hip boots the areas near the launch are probably best if you want to cover some ground.

Yough Lake is a different story.

If you end up fishing the Yough Lake from shore, keep an eye open for Rattlers. When I was young, I was walking a path in the woods at the lake and walked right up on a rattlesnake. I imagine you would be ok in these temps but when it warms up its a different story.
