Cookin' pike?

Never really targeted pike till this weekend, although i've caught quite a few while panfishig in the spring. The panfishing was extremely slow over the weekend, so we set a load of tipups out and slammed the pike.  My buddy wanted to keep a few, put them in the smoker, and they turned out great.  Anybody have any other good recipies for how to cook 'em up?? Tipup fishing... might have a new addiction...

    It's hard to beat pike fillets as long as you learn to get the Y bones out.  Cook the same way you would any mild white fleshed fish.  My favorite is poor man's lobster.  Cut into chunks.  Do a fish boil with lemon juice, Old Bay, dill weed, etc., then dip in clarified butter.

    fished manotoulin island in canada about a dozen times in the past 25 years, specifically targeting pike for the freezer.  unbelievable just breaded and fried.  only had 'em out of the cold, clear waters of the georgian bay,  don't know how'd they be here. probably good caught thru the ice, don't know about the warmer waters in the summer. worth a try though.

    I like pike the bigger the better,fillet Y bones out ,dip in egg wash breading and fry,nice flakey white mild fish,compare to walleye when done right, My family loves my pike patties,boil fillets till they flake,drain flake in a bowl,( small diced) sweet red bell pepper,sweet or green onions,a little celery in a frying pan with a little olive oil and butter,cook veggies on low heat till soft,mix with flake fish and add a couple of beaten eggs, and old bay seasoning mix together and add some seasoned bread crumbs,till it binds and you can form a patty that hold together. Then dip the patty  in egg wash and dip in breading and pan fry till golden brown on both sides(one flip). Serve with  seafood sauce it like a really good cake cake without tons of bread filler.
