Amen. You guys think Im talking smack on the lake feel free to believe what you want. My opinion stands. I know my capabilities and how much knowledge I have when it comes to various lakes and fisheries. Maybe your right, maybe I dont put my time in on Arthur like I should to get to know it well. But I'd rather improve my skills on a lake thats worth my time. For example, want to learn to fish a jerk bait better ,so Im sure in the heck aint gonna go to Arthur to learn cause I aint gonna get bit so I'll be on Pymie where I can get bit and learn how to work the lure with various depths, colors, and patterns. I'm not going to waste my time, gas, or efforts on Arthur (sorry to all of you that love it but I dont). My opinion is my opinion. If you got a problem with that then sorry. Porktown
I wouldn't discount all that he says. There are days on any lake that won't fish well, and Arthur does have that reputation. I do find Arthur to fish rather well for large mouth, but I also fish a good bit with live bait. They are usually a by catch of what I am targeting. The lake does get more pressure than most inland lakes in the state, and after taking 10-20 hooks in the mouth, the fish do start to figure out that funny looking unnatural bass lures don't taste good, don't fill their bellies, and end up in a live well for a few hours...

Oh the insults. Keep em coming guys cause all your doing is motivating me to fish harder. And it was an example not a comparision to every fishery in PA. By the way look at the catch results and you'll see Arthur isn't by far at the top of the list. In my opinion yet again if the rivers are producing more fish in the summer months then Arthur it proves my point (any avid anglers knows the rivers are difficult to fish). Sure it might be a great fishery in the spring, fall, or at night for crappie, gills, stripers, etc. so thats great for the pleasure fisherman who are happy to catch anything that swims. Who doesn't honestly! But the bass fishing on the lake is what it is and if you can catch em more power to you. If any of you are willing to put your money where your mouths are, I'll see you out there in some tourneys and I'll be glad to take it off your hands. Till then, have fun bickering.

No Im glad you posted them. Some what proves a point. Im refering to these other guys that are saying I'm basically a wash up tourney fisherman and wont ever make it. Im fed up with them cause they have no idea what background Im coming from, what I've accomplished through out my fishing career, and they dont even know me on a personal level. Congrats to your son, look forward to competing against him again this year. Good luck and fishing to you crappiefisher! crappiefisher

Are you one of those guys on TV? Are you a real Pro? Are you the same guy on the Northern forum asking where to find Crappie on Pymy? Why is a Tourny bass fisherman looking for hot spots for Crappy?

Is there really a point in calling me out? No I'm not pro and no I'm not on tv. I have no problems admitting that. But I've been bass fishing tourneys all over the state of PA since I was 14 yrs old. As a youth, I was on the pro staff of Gamma, Stanely, and Gander Mtn. I fished the B.A.S.S. Junior Championship on Lake Onondaga in NY placing 13 out of 50 other youths. (1 anger from every state per age division). Unfortunetly when you start working full time its hard to dedicate yourself and find alot more time to better yourself on the water. I've seen enough and fished enough bodys of water in PA to know what Im talking about. As for the crappies, I chase all sorts of fish from crappie, to ice fishing for eyes, to steelhead at Erie, and even paylake carp fishing. Im like anyone else, if it swims I see it as a challenge, target the fish, and like to slay em! I primarily fish for bass once summer hits though. Tournament fishing is my passion. Im really not a jackass but once you start calling me out, or saying I cant fish, etc....well Im going to stand up for myself. Every man would. jmat5

Everybody needs to step back and take a deep breath,Catchin might have too much pride in himself but thats his right. After living in Fla most of the 70's I catchn't get into bass fishing here aways. I was lucky a got to fish Kissimmee,Okeechobee,St. Johns river and my favorite Sawgrass in the Everglades. My claim to fame a 9lb + LM until the guy at the bait shop said "Son we put those little ones back" Talk letting the air out of your bubble. When I moved back here 18" bass was a joke after being use to pounds. Bottm fishing is a SPORT for FUN and if you're lucky enough to make a feww bucks God bless you! No one is better then anyone on the water just a little luckier

So, I've seen a lot of ppl rag on Arthur here since I joined. "No Fish Lake" "Dead Sea" "I hate fishing there because my spot got burned." "Too many ppl." Blah, blah, blah. But I wonder... If ppl hate Arthur so much, what in the world would possess them to read a thread on the lake, let alone post on it? Just sayin'.

There was a fairly large area of open water. Stretching from the 528 launch, across the mouth of the Muddy creek arm to the point at the mouth of the Shannon run arm. With guys on the ice a 100 yards away, on a 55 degree afternoon. Insane.

I went out 422 to hit up the delayed harvest in volant for a bit of fun this evening. Passing along side it seemed many of the coves are thawed and some ice in the open is starting to look transparent. Oh and I happened to land 6 trout one being 17-18 inches
