Any one been on Wilhelm or fished it this weekend? I heard it still had ice on it so just curious. Let me know, thanks!

Just fished it today. Deff a "at your own comfort level/risk" type of day. any where from 2.5 to 4 inches of black ice. Some spots slush and open water. Its iffy out there. Me and and my buddy started out over 4 inches and walked away about 2 hrs later afte the sun took it down to 2.5. Good luck, drill test holes, and be safe.

Fish were biting good this weekend. On Sat it had a solid 4 inches of black ice but with a 46 degree day I could see the edges weakening up pretty well and it melting down some. Kinda sad because we put over 75 gills/perch mixed on the ice from 2:30 pm till 7 pm! Sad to see it warming up this week.

Fished this morning off launch 3. Slowed start tha had a fire drill for about 20 mintues around 10. Caught between 25-30 gills and perch but no keepers.
ICE IS VERY VARIABLE. One spot would be 4 inches of black ice and 10 feet away it would be 2. Positively a pucker factor lake right now. Shoreline held up.

Fished right near the dam.. ice was 5-6 of mostly black ....Caught gills,, crappies ,, perch , bullhead ,, L / Mouth B ,,,,, .... I kept 21 cleaners........ Shore ice soft/ bare ground to drag across .......  ...........NW/

The edge was bouncing as ya got closer to the edge coming on /off.... I carry a piece of OSB 2 x 4 long and try and lay it on the edge just so I dont track all that mud on cause of the solar thing ....... Ice was good and hard on the lake ......NW/

Well that sounds quite reassuring to me. And a long as the plan goes right maybe catch ya tomorrow . I'm a youngin but my I'm quite the fisherman and since I gotta flasher I find the biters if they are there lol . Thanks for the info

Fished this morning for about 3 hours. Drilled 9 holes and caught fish in all holes BUT if you added the weight of the fish together it might have made 4 #. Darn wind made it unpleasant to say the least even though I was dreeed for it still got cold. Walked right off launch 2 with no problem. Some open water near the bridge over the causeway to the ramp at the boat house, won't be long now. Better get all the fishing you can in this week before the big melt comes next week.
