Pittsburgh Boat Show this weekend.

Just wondering if anyone has attended these in the last few years. Haven't seen this posted anywhere, I apologize if it's already been discussed:

I've been looking at new/used boats for a while and I'm debating attending just to meet potential dealers and see 2013 models first hand. The boat preview isn't exactly motivating me to make the trip though. Hopefully it doesn't represent the majority of the selection?

there are some beautiful boats there but if you are looking for basic fishing boats i do no think this is the place.  i ve attended with a friend who has a small cruiser.  it was great to  dream and see and get into the boats that i wll never be able to afford unless  i hit the  lottery.  there s a beautful chris craft for over 100 g that  i would buy in a heart beat if i could afford.   go and dream for 9 bucks if you have the time.

With the large amount of high quality used boats available for sale, buying brand new, especially at those prices IMO is a waste. The Monroeville convention center isn't the largest either, I wonder how many boats/dealers will even be there. But as fruntz said it's always great to just go and dream of what could be if one were to hit the lottery. If you got the time, hey, why not just go look?

i went to the rv show at the convention center last week and dreaming is a good way to put it.  an rv would be so much fun but they make no economical sense in any way shape or form.

but still, they are fun to think about.

At least you don't need to pay $20 for parking or whatever it is to go to the Convention Center

I used to go every year but quit going a while back, went a few years ago with a couple of my cousins and there was nobody there, suprised to see a good bit of used boats for sale.

    fruntz,
the show wasnt anything special at all....be glad you didnt go.   I went saturday night with my dad mostly because vics sport center was going to be there and we wanted to look at some starcrafts.  There was a handful of fishing boats, and a ton of pontoons and ski boats.  I was surprised at how few people were there. You could have walked through the whole thing in maybe an hour if you really took your time. I spent most of the time sitting in a starcraft fishmaster 196 talking to the salesman.....

tnks for info.  last time i went was at convention center in town.  many BIGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG  boats at that one.  guess they could not get them into monroeville.  wanning interest.  perhaps they should go to bi, tri or quarterly or every five (like a highschool reunion) to get more interest.  if dealers don't get the interest (read sales) they will start to drop out or find an alternative (perhaps have an in water and/or on land over at the new soccer (sorry football for the rest of the world) stadium during the regatta).  reach to  a broader audience.
