Looking for a spring Fly fishing hot spot East of the Mississippi River

Myself and a few friend are looking for a self guided early Spring trout fly fishing destination East of the Mississippi River. We are taking a road trip in early spring from Maine to Missouri an was wondering how the spring fishing for trout is south of New England an when would be the best time to head south?

    Spring trout fishing is good.
     
    Any time from March to November.

    Try our Neshannock Creek or Slippery Rock Creek here in Western Pennsylvania, or any of the major creeks in central Pennsylvania Like the Little Juniata, Penn's Creek, or Spring Creek.
     
    All are great and reliable destinations for trout in the Spring. All these creeks produce year round, but if your looking for the Spring "bloom", I'd say from March and on is a good time to hit them.

    If you are going Maine to Missouri, in early spring, you will have high & cold water most of the way.  Startin Missouri & end in Maine.  Maine's trout water doesn't get going good until May.
