I've never ice fished that lake, can't help you there, but there are basically only two parking lots, both are PFBC boat launches, one on the north side & one the south side of the lake.  I don't even pay attention to road names because I've been going there for so long, but I'm sure the launches can be found on the PFBC site.  Towards the dam it's deeper.

There is an access road that takes you to the dam, but I'm not sure if it's open in winter or not.  That would be a third parking spot.

I haven't made it up there in the past 2 winters but for the 10 to 15 years prior the gate at the end of the road has been closed every time I've went by.  Usually I believe it's open again about April 1st.  It's an uphill drag the whole way if you head down towards the breast to fish and park there.   Travel light.  It's also a long haul there from the other 2 parking lots especially if there's drifted snow on the ice.

That's what I figured too, but wasn't sure.

Well me and my brother left early this morning to head to highpoint.  in total today we had 7 flags go up, lost something big under the one hole.  Landed one walleye through the ice and the rest seem to just take half of the minnow off the hook.  Also caught some small gills and perch.  It was a good day on the ice.  I didnt find any ice under 4 inches with most of it being over that
This is the eye that came home with the assassin lol

Nice job on the eye.  Did you get it on tip ups or jigging?   Many, many years ago my brother in law and I went up there one morning with 50 3 to 4 inch chubs.  We set our 10 tip ups out and ran out of chubs by the time the sun came up.  Went and got more minnows and never had another walleye bite.  I'm sure some of the fish before the sun came up could have been pike but all we landed were walleyes.  None were legal however.  It would be nice to see walleye make a comeback there.

I used to do really well there for pike using dead smelt for bait but since the pickerel took over I haven't done very well.

Sam:  Used to love going up to that place to fish both summer and winter but hardly ever hit it any more.  If you were ever up there ice fishing back in the 1970's do you remember the people who drug the shell of an old car out and used it as a shanty?  I always wondered if it is still on the bottom or if they were able to drag it off the ice.  I know it was up there for at least one whole week with no one around it.  It was on the south side down near the limestone quarry.

Or how about the times with that wind there would be a group of guys with lawn chairs holding a sheet between them and they were holding races letting that wind blow them across the ice.  If it was sheet ice they could go quite aways.

Nice walleye assassain, makes me jealous as hell.  I've been dying to make the trip up just been too **** busy.  I usally fish about 200 yds to the left of the boat launch right in the middle of that first cove on the left. What section of the lake were you guys fishing?

I talked to a guy who said there was 4 or 5 inches on last Sunday. I'm sure the warm weather didn't help but it's been cold the last 3 days I think there will be good ice and I'll be out there with 2 buddies. Ill probably be in orange coveralls fishing out of the clam ice fishing hut. More then likely we'll be out from the cove to the left of the launch. If I dont see u good luck.
