Pickerel

I live on the border of Clarion and Armstrong Counties. Where is the closest place I can fish and have a good chance of catching a pickerel? I see a lot of pickerel being caught in NE PA and it looks like a lot of fun. I've never caught a pickerel so it would be nice to knock that one off of my list, but I don't want to travel to the other side of the state to do it if possible.

I heard the Keystone Power Dam has some, but I used to fish the hell out of that when I was a kid and I never caught one.

Sugar Lake , They are the results of some one stocking them , but not the PFBC . Sugar is an open lake /waterway so I would think they are in French Creek by now .

I used to catch chain pickerel all the time, but for the life of me, I can't remember where...might have been a farm pond.

High Point is loaded with them. Amazingly, a small public trout pond, Dumans Dam, in Cambria County near Ebensburg is loaded also. My wife, the  Queen, landed a 28" pickerel there a few years ago in March. Her picture was on the Pa Fish and Boating mag....WF
