The forecast looks great!  20 degree temps for the next 10 days! im giving it 3 weeks...

    I didn't fish up there much at all this year.   I was out on the lake runing charters and stuff a lot this summer.  Got a brand new 2 man Clam Fish Trap and a Humminbird Ice-35 Flasher. I'm ready!!

     It's pretty cold out.  I'm wondering if some of that ice will be ready by this weekend to fish,  especially after the next 3 days of bitter cold nights.  Waiting is the hardest part.

    Getting above freezing for a couple hours each day can actually help ice formation as long as nightime temps get well into the 20's or lower.  It helps pack the snow on top, lessening it's insulating potential, and allows for faster and more consistent ice formation.
