The weather so far this year......brutal cold until end of March......very short spring for month of April,,,,,Summer heat and drought for May......now lots of rain in June.....I hope it stays wet so there is good flow in Sept (500+)
Now that a record rain for June is history what will July bring.....heat and drought? The way this year is going that would n't surprise me.

Jack unbelievable how dry it was and now so wet... As of now September is looking good. Let's hope they don't suck itdry. They're being rather conservative thus far. I'm excited for small mouth opener as water may be in the low 60's for it and they are quite palletable during those conditions.

Oh yeah!!! Bear they should've started dumping more water after those storms you and I witnessed two weekends ago. They made an attempt a few days later after pinevilke was near 1000 for a fewdays while only 185 discharge was coming from the dam. They definitely dropped the ball. My concern is bass... Last year was a wash out for bass with very high water durIng spawning season for river bass... Now even higher this year. Bass may take a hit in the next few years to come from this.. The river was low and warm and now flood stage.. Can't be good for the beds that have already been established or being established as we speak in areas that will go dry. On a brighter note , my corn rows are staying fairly dry, unlike my sunflower, carrot and water melon rows. They got waterlogged a week and a half ago just after seeding them And are apparently not germinating. My corn rows have All 6-8" plants...

Strawberries are in locally and are they ever good,I buy them from a local berry farm for $4.75/qt and have made three pies so far for me and friends
Right now there is a flood advisory issued here due to a thunder cell sitting on our area.

The onslaught continues with more fairly heavy rain yesterday. Luckily we missed the worse of it. seems like a lull for the next few days.

NWS Says more of the same tomorrow.  We had a tornado down here Wednesday night.  I went to Oatka Ck Thursday, and there was a tree down where I would, likely have been parked had I chanced it the night before.  Had the whole creek to myself Thurs, with beaucoup risers for the lasts 2 hrs.  Then more storms last night, water up again.

One more week to try to get out at night , then the Jazz Festival gets me for 9 nights in a row.  http://www.rochesterjazz.com/ to check it out.

From the early ( but always unpredictable ) weather & wind reports for this upcoming sat, it looks like the lake will be playing nice for us. It will be a slight 5-7 mph East wind , I know Jack, but the waves should be 1' or less :)

Ps, and a little stained water coming outta the tribs might just help too .

Pods coming through with Thunder, heavy lightning all around and spotty heavy rain.
Even with rain a few days ago am glad for more.

update=
Down the road  half   mile or so huge oaks snapped in half, trees uprooted -much damage.
Hardly a leaf out of place a my home and just over there looks like a tornado or heavy wind shear.

A couple of heavy thunder claps with torrential rain just after 3:30 this afternoon resulting in the loss of power for about 2 1/2 hours.  Second time in three days it has gone out as we lost power for about 4 hours late in the afternoon on Father's Day.  Our power comes off the trunk that runs through Fahnestock State Park and is almost always the first to go off the grid along with being the last to come back on.  I hope this is not indicative of the type of Summer we are to have.

Lowered my pool level Fri. evening, had to draw water off Sat. afternoon and, the water is about to go over the top of the skimmer again today.   I didn't measure the water level after I drained it Fri. but, I'd give an educated guess of 1.5" below the top of the skimmer both times.  Been rain showers on and off all day today and according to the NWS my favorite fishing hole is 6 feet above summer pool!

Hope yer able to stay dry and happy fishing.

Oswego river is raging pretty good for this time of year. It is over the walkways in some places. Got alot of takers , but nothing landed. They were hitting on top.
