Yea it was a nice day out Charlie , with bright sunshine and little wind. Glad it treated you kind . Played outside cutting firewood, burning fires and some yard work while the guys hooked up my heat. Wish I was on the lake that I took the yak out 10 days ago. Schroon again sat for another shot at lakers then the local Sunday. Resting easy now.. Still Grass here and about 3" in the schroon area. Sorry to hear about all the "work" that snow is giving you guys . Stay warm out there folks !!

Clint I shoulda coulda woulda plowed but not worth the effort with the Friday through Saturday warning. About 6-8 on the driveway after last nights plow out. It was nice to see fractions of the sun today as its been a long time... Although many of the white outs had a hazy sun blaring through

Many times my dad will stop and swipe it out in his truck, that was the case yesterday. its any easy job when someone else does it. 😇😇😇. He does the main drive , but I do the side and bank with the blower. Needless to say they did not get done.😞😞😞. Latest weather said big snow north of 104 and little snow south, so I may be spared, you on the other hand......... Heaviest stuff will be from the creek up I think.........

A friend of mine has been measuring daily since 12/31/13 and he's measured 57 inches in Altmar... Probably 2.5 foot of pack in the woods for altmat Albion area... Something tells me southern town of Richland along town of albion has gotten a little more... Heavy shifting winds, 50 degrees this past Sunday and not fully frozen ground along with compaction makes it look like 1.5-2.5 foot region wide

Well I pushed back the banks, and cleaned up a bit more. Loader joystick was frozen and had to run the salamander on it for a bit. Used the big blower to open up a path to the barn to make it easier for dad to walk down and feed the cows. Ice around here is shaping up, but up north the snow on top is not letting it form up. Looks like Oneida will be ready next weekend as there were many on it today. I never go on the first weekend. Let someone else be the first one through. I have to work next weekend so Monday or Tues looks like my first day out.

Way up on the bigger water the ice ''should'' be good. On Sandypond which is my go to spot there is too much snow to make good ice. Oneida had around 5 inches on big bay and a few spot from a few o talked to. Made better ice there because there was no snow. Yea I could of went to Henderson or sacketts today, but not worth the drive on the first weekend with safe, but still sketchy ice. Oneida will be locked up tight by next weekend and hopefully the pond will tighten up. There is too much good football on today too.

Bottomed out at -10 last night. Not the coldest day but close. Up every few hours feeding the fire. My stove is in the basement so not as efficient as in the living area. Boiler ran about every 20 minutes trying to keep up with the cold........

-8 when I got up at 6. Has to be makin' ice even with the 2-3" of snow on top. Most of the shallower places were hosting daring fishers last weekend, the trout lakes should start having walkable covers after this blast.

-14 in my little piece of Penn's Woods at 5:30am this morning and looking at -10 as I type.
May just go bore some holes at Wilhelm later today. This past Sunday the lake had 2"-4" on top but, the color didn't look good.
Hope to be reporting on scene later today.
