Not as much rain today as I expected a few drizzled. Spent the day fixing a gate, mowing the lawn and picking the rest of the winter squash for storage. Pulled plants and gathered up a half bushel of rotting tomatoes for the pigs. Going to black lake for a few days on Wednesday so I will be chasing perch, eyes, crappie abd pike no sharks and no $#it show for me.

Well , nothing changes more than the weather. Oswego county is now in flood watch... Possible up to 4" of rain. As most know the salmon started running before the rain came. If we get 2-4 on top of the inch plus tug got last night it could be a blow out

Wait for the fish, and then wait some more for the water to come down to where you can get at 'em!

Just from the rain we got here today, the Genny went to 38 ntu Turbidity, without much change in flow.  You have to hit them on the head with a gob of skein in that soup!

Good luck with it up there if you get the 4".  Hopefully, people know how to stay safe in as much water as that could produce.

Looking forward to the am with Charlie. Paying my dues watching the voice with the wife. Not a big reality fan but we got to do what we got to do to go fishing.

Well the rain was good for about 75 crawlers in about a half hour or so. Just got my bait for the trip to Black lake this week. Good luck to all,  sad I could not be there, but the guys I am going with I probably have more fingers than I have trips left with them so every one means alot.

Ps I packed my rain gear

A good dose of raining finally coming our way.  I hope it's not a blowout for you guys fishing the SR.  If this doesn't bring in the thundering herd nothing will.  Good luck everyone, tight lines.

As for The Voice, I had the pleasure of hearing and meeting a great talent that was on last seasons show.  Her name is Sarah Potenza. She is a RI native and I saw her at The Surf Hotel, Block Island, RI, August 2014. Google her, you won't be disappointed.  Sarah Potenza or Sarah and The Tall Boys.

Re:Weather thread 2015/09/30 05:47:13 (permalink)
We only got a little over an inch here so far, but the GR is on course to blow out totally.  Portageville is 1500 and heading straight up, Canasaraga creek is the same, so the two together and runoff in between says way over 3000 by the weekend down here. Consolation, a lot of other ditches should have their earliest runs in years.  I was at B+E Monday and a boater said there are browns all over the place inshore; those fish will be up the ditches as long as there is water in them.  Might pull some heat off the big river as well, as the other popular burned spots will be filling with fish at the same time the SR is.

Go get 'em!

I'd venture to say we got more than an inch yesterday on top of the inch that tug hhill got the night before. Flood watch has been lifted but north branch Sr is approaching 2k... Pineville is up about 150 cfs from 2 days ago. Probably 800 cfs down town and rising. Dsr was slow yesterday afternoon before we got dumped on. Had 1 fish on in about 45 minutes

Oh we poured hard... Just no flood type stuff... I think your guys system was different. Ours was supposed yo be thunderstorms meeting warm/tropical air mass. Thunderstorms didn't pan out. But from the time it started raining while on the river til the time I got home had to of been close to an inch alone. Tribs to the north are rising but not as much as localized tribs. One thing we've got on our side is minimal road run off.

That's good news . Heading up once that clock hits 1500 . Glad to know because I don't have a lot of weight . Maybe a few 7's some 3/0 and lots of bb's
Now I'm getting anxious 😀

Depending on where your fishing you may want to have some extra weights on hand. 2 reasons 1: flows are increasing as we speak and a dam release may take place... 2: you may hook a lot of fish at some point or another :)

We've had a north west wind today. After a few days of east wind, I've seen a west wind pish the warmer surface temps to the backs of mid-staged fish and make them run. Here's the kicker. Starting tomorrow we have prevailing east winds til Monday :/ either way you look at it, there's potential for the mother load to come... If its out there :/

No big run I couldn't close the deal 0-5. Not too many fish around. A few snaggers were hooking up here and there. Fichy got 2 small steelheads. Headed back out now for round 3 bad upper river for me.
