Shenango River

Me and my son hit Shenango for some November fishing since Erie has been so dead lately. We caught fish and had some late Fall action .

Nice!  I never had a lot of luck with those big hybrids in the fall, more so in the spring/summer.  And that trout was hungry!

I checked the gauge(was thinking of fishing it the other day) and I just looked at it now and the river is at 259 cfs.  It certainly doesn't look like it...

Nice pics Doc. Did you give that rainbow to your boy for bait for the Wiper ! LOL. Both are nice fish. I've wanted to fish that for a while now, but never seem to be able to make the hour drive for some reason.

Possibly my new favorite place to fish, love catching the wipers and the pike.  That rainbow sure was hungry also as said prior lol...  I don't think it would even be possible to wade there when they have more then 2 of the gates open 1'+ but I guess I'm wrong... lol

Nice pics! I've long wanted to fish the outflow of the Shenango again as I was only there once and that was many years ago. We couldn't keep the trout off the line that day. Beautiful water.
