Pymatuning?
Hope to fish Pymy this week-end. Is the ramp at Jamestown still okay to launch the boat?

Is the bait shop at the Linesville launch still open? Weather looks good for Saturday.

Even when that shop IS open it really isn't. They keep bankers hours and when you ask them anything pertinent about the lake they look at you like you asked them for the key to life!!!! Oh, for the old days of Frank and Lou, when it teally was a boat livery. It's just a parking lot for pontoons now.

I thought it was just me, but I noticed that too. It's certainly not like it used to be, but then again, what is ? ? ? I don't believe the info was very good at Poffs' either nor their attitude. They seem to be secretive about fishing info and very general. Their only saving grace is the amount of tackle, rods, bait etc ... . I much prefer frequenting Espyville Outdoors. Chris is honest about fishing reports and he has a decent selection of tackle and bait, plus his prices are fair. To each their own. There are people that believe one place is great and are willing to overlook some things in favor of other factors while others will have the completely opposite opinion.

Yeah Chris is cool at Espyville Outdoors. He hooked me up (no pun intended) a couple of times this year with softshells. I like gateway too! The guys I refer to at the old Linesville livery were back in the day of the wooden docks and when the guys would actually sleep there so they were ready for the morning rush. If you remember that, then you know I'm no Spring chicken! Nothing against the new setup, but several times this summer I would call just to get water depth info at the ramp and depending on who you talked to it was either as bad as the Sahara or as high as Johsntown after the flood. I would ask about ramp conditions and they would say no one had checked that day!!! Hell, the ramp is only twenty five yards from the building! Oh well, to each his own
