Confluence to Connellsville Great Allegheny Passage

Just wondering if anyone on these boards has made the hike from Confluence to Connellsville fishing along the way of course. I've fished tailraces, Ramcat and Ferncliff areas heavily and really want to tackle the whole stretch by bike and spend a few days doing so. Mostly gearing for trout but also running a smallmouth/walleye rig with me. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Was it tough to get a permit to camp along the G.A.P? Anything I should have a heads up on? Planning this little excursion for late April-early May which is prime time to run into a Black Bear but then again I've run into a few so far hiking in Sugarloaf and even once down on Ram Cat and it was always a peaceful encounter so I'm not too too worried about it. Looks to be great fishing, especially excited about where Dunbar Creek empties into the Yough and the Connellsville dam.

My parents bike the trail almost every weekend and my father says how many people he sees fishing all along the river, I'm sure there's a large mix pot in that whole stretch.  As for camping you can always check out the website for the GAP.

it is 28 miles from point a to point b, 11 from Confluence to Ohiopyle, then 17 from Ohiopyle to Connellsville, if you are only staying in place for one night you are able to get a permit to camp along the trail seeing as all the designated camping areas on this section of trail are well off the trail. Easily biked in a day but there is more than a days worth of fishing throughout
