The Immigrant Song...

...the opening of it.
That's what I sounded like.
I haven't listened to them in years--but that's what I sounded like.

I was knee deep in the stream and had just made a roll cast when the sky just opened up and poured buckets. I pinched my line to the cork and reached back with the other hand to pull my hood over my head when he hit and ran. No tap bump tug. Bang and run.

aahhhhAAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!

He went back in...

nice...thats a fishing battle scar there!
I was out there for a little bit today on my break-got soaked and skunked.  Then went back to work, then back out to fish for an hour afterwards...and got soaked and skunked again :(
The fish were following everything i threw-jigs, buggers, but at the last second they would half hit it and turn away.  Very frustrating.  Im sure there's a lesson to learn from that...anyone?  I kept changing stuff but stopped when my fingers were completely numb and my body was shaking from the wind/rain/hail.  The i made the long drive back to da burgh shamed, cold and skunked.  But ill be back.

i did not tie on a flatfish lure...i considered it, but i was nearing hypothermia i think at that point and couldnt fish any longer.
In hindsight i prolly shoulda started with that-it was slow deep water.

Man, I'm so glad we have pros to identify the fish for us around here; without 'em, we'd be lost eh?  Thanks FishUSA!

    Nice fish cb!
