Wow! Sorry to hear that Ken. Alot of Scum out there. If it was junkies they would have to get rid of them quick for the fix. So they may show up in local pawn shops quick. Have to track these scum down. We all need to keep our eyes open for ads for this equipment. (Craigslist, e-bay etc.) Hope you get the satisfaction of them being caught.

Thanks.  Help me keep an eye out, guys/girls.
Ebay, Craigslist and multiple fishing forum classifieds are being watched.  Local pawn shops have a description of the items.
I have calls in to every B/T Shop from Cleveland-Buffalo.
Everyone in my network has been notified.

Do you have back-ups to get you through the rest of the season?  I may be able to scrounge up 8-10 older Shimano TRs, some with braid and some with mono (that would need to be replaced) on 8' TDR Med lt. and Med. hvy rods.  No LC's, unfortunately.  You can borrow them for as long as you need to.  Just need to make a trip south a little so I could meet up with ya.

Hope you catch the dirty, stinkin' thieves and put a big treble through their lips and drag them through the lake for a couple miles.

    Thanks Slick.
Thanks 'gillz.  A friend gave me enough gear to get me through the rest of the season.  Your offer means a lot, thank you!
It's gonna take a little while to replenish $6000+ worth of gear...even with insurance.(Everything is insured, btw)

The few times I've left my boat in Erie I was never comfortable leaving my gear on board and it's a huge PIA to load it all up every trip. Has this ever happened to you before?

Sorry to hear your bad luck,I've had the same thing happen,Erie trout run brake in,4 new rods taken just bought 2 hours before a Poor Richards, and Olcott Ny, sure can ruin your trip.My bet is the local youths fun drug money. They caught a band of half breeds teens hitting the local charters boats that moored at Olcott back in the late 90's slipping on the big boats with a little 12 foot row boat, they cleaned out thousands of stuff, good luck on your recovery, thank goodness for Ins.

For Sale: 24 Rod/Reel Combos, ... nah I can't do it. Sorry Ken. For what everyone in town pays for slip fees there should be armed guards, camera systems and sign-in log books. Do the math on the Tekota reels alone, serious ching.

Back when smitty's was located on the north end of the marina 80's . I was crappie fishing off the pier in the marina just killin time and some fish. a kid maybe 12 years old came up to me and asked me if I wanted to buy some fishing equipment . he had it stashed in some bushes nearby. I walked over and saw it was someones entire walleye and perchin tackle. Told him to wait a few minutes and I would be back. Walked down and talked to the old man in the bait stand. He called Erie PD. and told them what was up. Here the kid was known to Smitty and to have no parents that cared or took care of him. Pretty sad thing, I actually sympathized his actions even though wrong never thought of this kid as scum. Sounds like some scum took your stuff Ironhed
