Steelhead Beatdown with a Spinning Rod?
I was lucky enough to witness 3 spinning dudes (they know who they are) outclass the field down on Elk today. Pretty cool just sitting back and taking it all in. Hooking up at will on some weird stuff.

I don't always snag fish, but when I do... I choose Little Cleos I'm the best looking smartest snagging poacher alive...

Had my azz handed to me in my hat by a couple of those same fishermen the other day. Must be locals......Is Latrobe locals or yinzers or muperes ????

I hate it when spin fisherman walk in and easily catch fish I've been fly fishing for all day. I knew I should have brought my spin rod,
Spey fishing was tough yesterday. Only had one grab, but the tug is what it's all about. Maybe KJH will sell me some flies, they look great hanging off a microbrew and really look like they would work.

I took the spin rod yesterday and loved every minute of it. Could of done without loosing a dozen jigs or so.
The Lord has blessed us all today... It's just that he has been particularly good to me.

I dunno...Try a little shaky retrieve in your swing... Fish were busting baitfish all morning and early afternoon. Lots of big angry males liking white with a bit of purple flash. Things shut down when the rain hit. Egg guys were catching some after that. That's OK.

I fished with a spin rod up until a few years ago. I learned how to flyfish...and I did well. I hammered steel and smart fish on the fly. I'm mostly back to my spinrod. I do enjoy flyfishing when its applicable, but I'm the type of duud that uses the most effective tool for the job in front of me. Most of the time....for me.....it's spingear.

My casts were horrible, I kept getting my indicator all tangled up in my D loop. But meh, Drank a great lakes IPA and photographed my reel next to it....
