Only in Pa

would you see something like this;

eport:, but within about 2 hours water resided a little and the fishing was good. i hooked up 17 times and landed 13 mostly on single eggs and eggsacks along with wolloy buggers, my dad hooked up 15 times and landed 12. i seen about 100+ other hook ups and dozens of fish landed with just as many missed. we left at 4:00pm. there is fish in the creek,not in numerous numbers but they are there!

"hundreds" of hook-up seen
25 fish landed by two anglers ...but there's not a lot of fish.....

Only in Erie....i love it

    for the record, I have no problem believing the duud's fishtail
    just that only in Erie will a "hundred+"  hook-ups seen and 25 fish landed by two duuds be considered "not a lot of fish yet"

    I don't think anyone (besides jimtwotime) is questioning whether or not you landed 13 fish.  Infact, thats not anything to brag about during green water conditions when the run is on...  Under PA standards of course.

    We were simply chuckling at the fact that you had that many hookups, saw 100 other hook ups, but claim there werent that many fish around.  Which once again shows how spoiled we are when a couple hundred fish in a short section of stream "isn't that many".

    " thats hardly good considering the fly guy i talked to said he hooked up 30 times and only landed 5 fish"

    What does the number of fish he landed ( he had 30 "hookups" ) have to do with how many fish are in the creek? Or even the number of "hookups" for that matter? There can BE thousands of fish in a stretch, and some guys even a lot of guys won't "hookup" at all. 30 "hookups" isn't a bad day. That he can't play fish, had weak leader, or ties poor knots, has nothing to do with number of fish available.

    " About 15-20 visable fish and not any more. If I believed your post (I dont), you caught everyone of those fish at least once and a few twice. Quit making up stories. "

    And you went back there 30, or even 15 minutes later there might still be 15-20 fish.  15-20 DIFFERENT fish. I've fished pockets & seams that never held more than 6-8 fish at any one time, yet caught fish all day. Fish move out, new fish move in.

    "only in Erie"  if we're not  hooking 4 to 6 fish an hour is it a "slow" bite  day

    BTW,  those flyduuds that had all the hook-ups but couldn't land chit ...we're prob'ly snAggArs .

    I don't doubt it at all. But I'd bet you've had alot more 12-15 fish days. With just as many fish in the stream, as that day.

    Wasn't that a slow day on the Tribs?  From some of the tales I've heard, it sounds like it.  I love it when I hear 2 guys say they "fished yesterday and hooked up in 8 hours 50 each and have done better  before". No wonder it gets crowded.  Gotta love the stories!
