nice Slick, I'm in. you can set the rules. distance, accuracy, or fish caught. I'm good for whatever. I'll probably lose but I don't care. I know you're the man, (sorry Cold). this could be fun.

Awesome. no rules. Distance and accuracy sound good. Fish have too many variables.  I prefer 2/5 oz if thats acceptable....beyond that playaz choice yo. I live in Erie...you call the time and place.

The last time I got "called out" was the infamous fish pics thread. I feel way better about this.

If you can out throw me duud....your the man....and I will forever give you the appropriate props.

I look forward to this....anyone else want in? Don't even reply if your gonna get embarrassed in public....just sayin'

I want to set up a rod for fishing the creek mouths with spoons. Has anyone ever tied using spider wire instead of normal mono?...I want to cast as far as I can...what pound lines and length rod?...any good suggestions on a spinning real worth looking at?....I'm hoping to find someone who knows about being able to cast far....I wanna reach that Chrome that's out on the fringes! Is appreciate some serious advice...I know spiderwire costs a lot but I don't care if it works better....I had a kid harassing me saying my ten pound line was too heavy...I figured it would help me keep from loosing as many lures and it wouldn't hurt the bite action because the fish are hitting a fast moving spoon with a huge treble hook on it...how could they possibly care how heavy the line appears?...any thoughts?

I like distance casting been punching 130+ yards on average with my new diawas and 2oz weights...

1: Quality Reel with TAPERED, wide spool- helps peel off the line better
2: Long rod (10-15'), long handles (2'-3') with large guides talking 40mm-50mm butt ring desending to 15mm tip, and able to snap back quick after the cast. Long handles allow you to create an arc. This all creates less friction which equals more distance.
3. Quality line and try to put it on without it wanting to twist especially if you use mono like me.
4. Casting stance, there are some good youtube vids on that **** any surf caster/carp one should do. More or less you're "stepping into the cast" so all the power comes from your legs not your arms giving extra force behind the cast.
5. Wear a leather glove or finger stall on the hand controlling the line. Mono or braid it'll shred or slice your finger badly.

Ill participate , watch , and learn. Always up for a good game of anything and this sounds like it has the makings of a good time.

This is all subject to whether or not I have to work on the day in question...

If this happens be sure to let me know Slick.

I'm in. I just have to dust off my noodle rod. Its been on the rack a couple of years.

MM reminded me of surf casting with my dad on Assateauge when I was a kid. We would lay the line out straight with the sand weight at the end behind us and drag it through the sand as we ran into our cast.

yep, same here, that's about all I need, except I just use a snap, not a snap swivel. see, I'm probably more evolved than you are. can we discuss politics while we're casting?

I also suggest it's best out of 3 casts....distance 3...accuracy 3.

If there is nobody playing golf in late October We can go to elk valley golf coarse and pick a fairway to let em fly. Ill bring my bullseye for the accuracy casts. Set it up and see who can hit it at so many yards away. We can walk off yardage on the distance casting with the marked sprinkler heads on the fairway.

Im going to suggest that when using our cleos we take off the hook and ring.
