Orchard beach run is loaded right now.

Elk, not so much.  We need some rain and colder temps to trigger a huge run, other than that, I'm goin perch-jerkin.  Not worth it, yet.

I stopped up at the Elk this weekend for some morning fly fishing.  The water was way too low.  Fish were stacked up by the log jam, but swimming in circles - not pointed up stream like normal.  Had a few strikes on them, but for the most part it was too low and clear so they were very skittish.

If we get the 4 or 5 days of rain in the next 10 days that they're calling for, it should allow a nice early fall run up to Rt. 5.

"There are a good number of Steelhead in Elk"  is subjective and also relative. I'm not being judgemental or bashing you, but instead being quite accurate, so please don't be offended. This applies to all, not just you mrknee3.

Hefalump, he's a troll. He likes to start trouble. Ignore him.

Don't come up for steel yet. Creeks are super low and crystal clear. There are some fish, but they are very skittish. Many of them already have hooks stuck in their backs and faces. I saw one yesterday at 12 mile with a decent sized green spoon stuck in his mouth.

You can always view the creeks for yourself by going to Uncle John's Elk Creek Campground and clicking on the webcam. If it is up and flowing, so is everything else. And yes, I know that Elk can be blown out while the Mile creeks are fishable, but it is at least a place to start. If you look at the webcam and Elk has good flow, you might as well go up. The fish are ready. They just need water temps to drop a little and more flow in the creeks. A good rain will do both.

Also, don't be afraid to call any of the baitshops to ask them what's up. I usually call BAC and North East Angler for updates on creek conditions before I drive up.

You guys should have went to 20 mile. lots of big browns and steelhead
about 200 fish from mouth up to bridge. they are skittish but will hit a well presented
joe fly or drifted eggsack. We limited out by 11 and had the stream to ourselves.
got my first erie brown had him weighed at 11 pounds.

Real ballzzy to make coments like that when everyone knows its bupkiss. Steelslayer made a joke about it and you confessed right away.
    Weak to say the least.
Besides I walked the whole stretch you described and there were 2 pods in 2 different pools and a handful in each pool. Coulda walked right in the pool and beached em all with one good kick. I saw 2 guys fishing one pool and 4 fishing the other. Every move they made spooked the fish. I think they got mad when I started laughing at them. What makes this even more hilarious is I think one of the guys was a guide from Ohio with 2 clients. We passed each other on the path . He made a trip back to his car and came back with 3 more rods.

gonna wait until November or even later. Might even wait until there are a few inches of snow on the ground. There will be plenty of space and more than enough fresh chrome.

In the meantime, I'm going to chase some Midwest Silver...

Maybe you should have called the PFBC and done something about it instead of complaining about it on an internet forum.
