didn't fish the lake but i did fish below the **** with a few buddies and had some luck. we caught 3 walleye, biggest was 19 smallest was 16. along with 1 decent channel cat about 25 and a handful of small bluegill all on jig heads tipped with crawlers, my buddy did hook up with a small musky but it jumped and shook the lure , he was using a j-9 rapala black and silver

Fished Arthur @ Mcdaniels launch area and fished around the island and the Fingers, Water Temp was 56-58 degrees throughout the day. The largemouth bite was strong, caught 4 -15.5-17"ers and numerous sub legals, the perch were all tiny but they smacked 2 "gulp minnows and live fat heads. gill bite was also strong also hitting live fatties and gulp. I also missed a walleye at the boat my line snapped. Overall pretty decent day...nothing trolling though.

SWPABASS - Looks like those fish that won't take any offering at the deeper end of the lake at this time of year... Have driven me nuts on numerous occasions! I'm debating to take the fish cam out and see if I can figure out what they are. I'm guessing adult gizzard shad, since they don't seem to eat anything!

I read that there is a Musky tournament on Sunday out of the 528 launch. Is it normally wise to avoid this launch and go to another?

BlueLagoon - I did the same with the fish camera a few years back (when I first bought it). Really ticked me off, since Arthur is what I wanted it for. It has sat on a shelf since... SWPA - Not sure about the tournement, but I'd definitely avoid. You can launch at the Church across the bridge or smaller launch more in 528. Very weedy, near the old 528 right now. Not sure when the weeds start to die off, if they haven't already. Oh yeah, the public launch near the Davis Hollow Marina isn't too far away from 528, if you are planning to fish the "main lake" side of 528. A bit more of a pain to get to from the South though.

That was my take too. I tried on Arthur and the Ohio. I wasn't expecting much from the Ohio. Was hoping it was clearer in the deeper sections of Arthur. I tried at about 20' and nothing. I've been meaning to try again, but haven't got around to it. I'd definitely consider by the dam now though, which how loaded up the fish are. Figure there should be enough around that you see something...

I picked up a nice mess of Perch Wednesday, on fatheads. Also had a Big ol' Blue Heron catching fish to my right, while a big ol' Osprey dived in and caught something long and slim off to my left. It was a good day to be in the water!

Went out today from 12:30 to dark. Caught many crappie but had to weed through the small ones and ended up with 9 that were 11+. Caught most on fatheads but did manage a few jigging. Found crappie in 8-11 fow around structure. Was a great day to be on the lake.

Funny you should ask that, I told a guy who was putting his boat out that this was probably the first time since I started fishing that lake that I didn't get a SINGLE BLUEGILL! I couldn't believe it!

That's funny because I've been the exact opposite- never catching them....to slamming some big guys using 2.5" gulp...guess I gotta go up to 3 to stay away from them. Anyhow- fished yesterday...used the wind to float the shorelines First fish was a 12 inch perch, but after that it was a lot of small fish 12-13 inch large mouths, 5 small crappie and dink perch. Couldn't find the bigger fish yesterday. 56* Fishin' was good until the rain came down consistently. good luck

Water was cleared up on Sunday. Fishing was spotty for me. Got a few nice perch, but after getting a few to bite, it turned off. Was nice to get out, but cold. Really cold wading... Looks to be a nice week. I might have to sneak out again to add to my perch fillet bag...
