First steelhead pics

I must have missed the first steelhead pics of the new season. Usually a lot by now. I'm looking to accessorize my new rope stringer and got to see what is happening....WF

Slayed them at the stop sign hole today.  Lil Cleos caught most, but some on yellow powerbait but not many.  I hear blue is better.

    Sorry no yellow rope...

And I am sure a few people legally catch steelhead on them there, too.  It's not taboo to use a lure in the creeks, contrary to popular belief.

Fish 'em just like a jig in smaller holes and runs.  Not the best application for a cleo, and not the best lure for jigging, but it can be done without snagging fish and others' lines.  I know that's anathema to the non-neanderthals that think steelhead fishing should only be done with yarn and feathers, but it works sometimes.

Ironically, that is what my first steelhead last year was caught on.
