Tionesta creek
I'm going to be in kelletville tomorrow and want to fish a little in tionesta creek. I know it's way to late for the trout but would could I expect to catch?

Drive and fish the Allegheny for bass. Way better off fishing it than Tionesta Creek. IMO.

smallies for sure, and you MAY be lucky enough to find a trout in a deeper hole (I've seen it happen)...........don't forget to visit Cougar Bob's!

Does the walleye come in in the fall?
And I fished salmon. Did ok but noticed a lot of dead trout on the banks

Wouldn't spend too much time on Walleye on Tionesta Ck above the Tionesta Dam. Unsuccessful in introducing them to the Dam a decade or so ago, which would be the source of any Walleye in 'upper' Tionesta Ck. The Walleye in the Outflow likely get re-populated from a combo of spawn/migration up from the Allegheny River, since the wood dam is no longer a barrier to fish from Allegheny, but get a lot of pressure at the Outflow wall(s).
Sad to hear that you saw dead stockies at Salmon Ck, it has been an unusually warm and dry summer, perhaps even Salmon Ck has temps in 60's/70's during daytime, stressing Trout. Fear not, the fall chill is coming, and the fish will turn on like clockwork.

Another thing I noticed is salmon creek is a real reddish orange color and I've never seen I like that before. But then again I have never fished it in August. Only April thru June then again in October

Why would they stock trout in August? The PFBC should stock the extra fish in streams where they have a better chance at surviving. Yeah, Salmon does get a little toasty, but there are actually a few wild fish in there so it does stay cooler in some parts of the creek and tribs/springs. The reddish orange is from mine drainage, that's one of the reasons it's not a good wild trout stream. I don't have a lot of experience on Salmon, but from what I hear a lot of the stockies swim down to Tionesta Creek because of the AMD, that's why people catch stocked brookies in Tionesta Creek although brookies aren't stocked in there. This is the case with Bluejay and Coon Creeks also I think. Anyways I'm guessing it's more orange/red now because of the lower water levels that in the spring.

I don't know. Actually now that I think of it I'm not even positive if it's AMD or not. I know Salmon does have acidity problems of some sort though, along with Bluejay, The Branch, and Coon. Could be natural, I don't know, but I doubt it.

could be from tannnins. Chemicals in the pine needles that blanket the ground in the ANF.

I noticed reddish orange color in Maple Creek during trout season as well off of Coon Rd. Don't remember it ever being like that there. Seems like something is going on.

The reddish orange coloring is probably AMD related, natural or unatural, and probably not from tannins. Although there are a bunch of streams in the ANF that do have that tanic look to them, and they are from tannins, but they're also pretty good healthy, wild trout streams.
