pymo report 8/13

went out of snodgrass on mon. not expecting much more than a boat ride but was pleasantly suprised with two legal walleye two nice crappie and  ten or more nice sized channel cats not two mention a few small perch and blue gill.now the down side the water at the launch was low and unless you intend on getting in the water it is borderline weather you want to try it. the line on the dock indicates the ramp ends about 12 feet into the water after that you are on lake bottom. all fish were caught on worms either on a plain hook or small jig head a foot above the bottom.

I'm not doing any better around the shore line. I'm still catching a lot of perch and channel cats, that's the majority of it. The water is way to low. I have to wade out a good 50 yards to do any good, and I sink about 2 feet down into the mud.

We tried the causeway Sunday, with no luck. The people beside us was from Pittsburgh, camping at the camp ground. They were fun people. Nobody caught a thing around us.

Had a good day today. Just fishing for crappies and got over 30 in the cooler. They're starting to move shallower now that the nights are cooler. Got some in 12 and some in 8. All on jigs under a bobber.

Looking for where you can launch from due to the low levels.  Is Jamestown accessible?  I have a 14 foot boat to launch.  Thanks in advance.

They closed all but Mahany tara and 18 launch on Shenango.....no charges to use them now. Because of low water. Be careful where you go and watch for stumps towards the river.  Haven,t been on Pymy in a week. Has it dropped more?

Yes. Was there saturday and it's lower than it was wednesday. Trailer's dropping over the edge now on all three ramps. Glad there's no washout holes.

Thanks Chauncy. I hit Auther today for 4 hrs. 4 stripers 4 cats 1 gill 1 wally. The ramp by the dam is a tough one for my trailer. The boat drags on metal because its so steep.

fished pym. wed. hit all areas of lake from jamestown
north, both east and west sides almost up to causeway
from shallow to deep , used mostly meat on floating jigs,
spinners, just hook, etc. , water and weather was perfect
    nice rolling waves, mostly.clouds,
was on lake about 8 or 9 hrs. , and between 2 0f us we
only got 4 cats, we did mark a lot but no takers, did hang
up once on weed/ sand bar as water still way down , we
need rain and lots of it, all and all  a perfect day fish or
    no fish.

Fishing the stumps in the fall is great but there's very little water there right now. I'm talking out from the beach to the islands. If you can get out to the deeper water you should be okay. Anybody have any pics of that area they can post?
