Fishing this weekend

SO, who all is going out this weekend?  This board is kind of slow......even the lake arthur thread hasnt had a post for a week!

I'll be going down to somerset county to do some fishing.  It will be the first time since june I have had a chance to get out.  I cant wait to catch a few smallies.

Not this weekend, unless I hit the local mud pond, which I haven't fished in months.  Got a kickball tournement tomorrow, and likely family day Sunday.

I hit Arthur this past Sunday.  Got a bunch of undersized crappie and some gills.  Got two keeper sized crappie, but went back to grow more.  Arthur is in recreational boating peak, and the heat is making fishing tough.  I'm sure the mornings and evenings are giving up some fish, and those that know the lake's patterns always seem to catch.  I pick up on a few every year, but still don't have a midday Summer pattern established, if there is one...

If I were to head out, smallies would be the target.  I skipped the Yough on Sunday due to all of the rain last week/weekend.  Not really sure how bad it was.  You should score pretty good this weekend.

    Good luck & post reports.

Not sure what is going on with these boards.  It seems like that latest update they did, knocked off half of the contributors.  I'm sure the upcoming steelhead fever will have things moving again.

That's exactly what happened.  Most of them are not smart enough to find there way back in because their old bookmarked link no longer works.

I kicked around the thought of fishing last week, but with those thunderstorms i figured everything would have been a wash out.  Seems like the water levels are a little more back to normal now.  I'm going to try to get out there as early as possible and try to beat the heat.

That last update probably didnt help the activity on the board.  Also, its kind of unfortunate that some of the most active people on  the board also happend to stir the pot the most as well.

It took me a week or so, and had help...  But pretty sure that I am smarter than a few of the clowns that didn't make it back on.

You up for a wing night?  I had the chipolte wings at Hough's on Monday, pretty good stuff.  So was the Lagunitas draft washing it down...  Not to hijack another thread...

Yea, I'd be up for a wing night, name the when and where.  I hit that Moose joint about a month ago with a buddy for wing night.  You were right, smokey as could be in there.  But we got 20 whole wings, a bunch of beers for $20 total + tip.

This was on a Monday, that place gets packed for their wing night.

    I don't know of "Hough's".

Loyalhanna creek was flowing very nicely today, caught 3 carp and a bunch of assorted sunfish, should still be good tomorrow. I'm hitting the river tonight for flats.

Caught this little guy out of LH creek this morning.  Caught a few LM, and several rock bass.  All fish returned, beautiful day to be out.  I hope to get out in the kayak tomorrow, have yet to decide where.

Been wanting to get out but we were car shopping for 3 weeks in our spare time, prepping for my daughters birthday party today and then getting ready this coming week to head to the beach for a week. Hopefully I'll report on fishing and crabbing @ Indian Beach, NC the week of the 12th. :-)

I would LOVE to get out but this weather sucks! As close as I'll get was today when I pulled my cover off my boat to scrub the underside. I've been out about 4 times on the Mon and this has been a horrible year for fishing. Did poorly on the Clarion, poorly on the Redbank, all round a bad year. Here's hoping that fall makes up for it.

Guess you'll have to head north. A certain creek in the north was producing some hefty smallies today!  Not large numbers but large bass!

i fish the shenango in the new castle area once or twice a week and have been rewarded, the smallmouth action is awesome with a few 2-3 lbers and 1 monster 5.5 lber earleier last month and the catfishing has been steady. the walleye fishin has been spoadic in the evenings with black n silver rapalas working the best ive only landed 1 small pike and missed a 30+''er in the early spring. almost every fish comes on lures, for cats we use chicken liver chubs/shiners and med. size blueguill

i did end up going on sunday morning.  i got one fish and learned a very valuable lession about interpreting stream gauges on the usgs website.  very bummed out by the lousiness of the weather and the fact where i went was more or less blown out.

i did stop at high point lake for the first time, though, and it was nice to see a different place.  are there any places to fish from the shore at high point (other than the boat launches?)
