kahle lake this thursday (august 2)

we're gonna head up to kahle this thursday and are wondering about the best launch spot - south or north.
 
we have a 14 ft basic aluminum boat with an electric and will be bringing waders.

    I always go out of the North , which is the Venango side

    Try Venango and tell me if you have any trouble launching.

    thanks to some input by slabdaddy, we had a very enjoyable day at kahle lake thursday - practically no wind and a bit hot but the fish seemed to cooperate.  got some nice slab gills and jumbo perch in about 15 to 17 feet of water (+/-) almost anywhere in the lake.  mainly on worms trolled slowly just off the bottom.  no crappie could be found.
     
    took some minnow along and they didn't like the 84degF surface temp so they were not all that effective - except for largemouth bass just off the weedbeds in about 9-11 ft of water.  got about a dozen in the 13- 14.5 inch range - a few did nice tail dances and launches.
     
    this is a very nice lake - kinda small but very good for panfish.  enjoyed a few gills for dinner tonight - they were wonderful.

    Big gills are a lot of fun to bring in on UL gear. They are also darn good eating! Glad you did well. Glad I could help.
