One reason I hate 12, boats! They are like a canoe. Wear a life jacket if you go in one. The guy was my age but twice my size. He was quite exhausted and was going under. The boat was upside down and submerged under water. The 3 Amish boys made a good toss with their cushion. I threw my jacket on as I went across the lake in preparation of diving in. Glad I didn,t have to! By the way...those boys had 5 bass in their cooler and said they had many hits. They gave up on the walleyes. I should have broke out my bass gear...lol

How did he flip? Last time I was up, I found two trees (presumably still rooted) in about 11 FOW about halfway between Manning and the bay before Tuttle Beach. Only about a foot of them were showing above water. They weren't marked or anything. If someone would have hit those, they definately would be in trouble.

They were having motor trouble. Guess when he pulled the rope to start he lost balance and flipped the boat. They both were large guys.

i launched out of snodgrass and fished a little north down to the dam. a couple walleye, some perch and a few gills were all we got. Fished mostly in the 14-16' range. had better days, but a lot worse too..

I fished the southend too. Caught a lot of crappies with a couple gills and perch thrown in too. Kept 23 over 10". Found them in 8ft, 6ft down, around wood. Tried deep with only a couple. They hit small plastic baits under a float.

maybe I should rent a pontoon from Jamestown instead of Espyville. Sounds like most of the fish are being caught in the lower end of the lake.

Just got back from a 3 day stay at Pymy. Fishing was good considering time of year and the low lake coniditions. Our 3 day walleye total was 15 between the two of us. Eleven or twelve were keeper sized the biggest going about 21 inches. Some taken deep in 19 feet others shallower around 10 feet. A lot of perch and gills mixed in with a few cats and crappies. Worms seemed to be the best for us. All fish were caught in the south end. Would have kept the eyes but the freezer is too full from Erie so they were released after being unhooked!

With all the rain we have had over the past few weeks, I was wondering if the water level has come up, and if so by how much???

Bdugg as of yesterday the lake is still down 32 inches, if anyone is planning on fishing the south end I would have to recommend the Jamestown marina launch as it is the deepest that I know of right now. Snodgrass is probably the second best just try to stay on the right side, it's deeper.

Have my pontoon docked at Jamestown, Im wondering when I should yank it out.....before I cant get it on its bunk trailer. Im heading up Tuesday to give fishing a go, be looking for them deep, maybe this colder snap will loosen up some of the lock jaw on the eyes.

Well, just got back from Pymie. It was definately not the best day. The wind was driving me crazy. We caught a few nice perch, a bunch of tiny perch (2-3 inches), a few nice gills, a bunch of dink gills, one decent catfish, and lost a legal eye at the boat. It was fun though. Fishing is always fun.

Jamestown. Go straight across the lake from the launch to the other shore. Find where it breaks from 20-25ft and fish that. All of my keepers came from there. Unfortunately, I didn't find that spot until an hour before we had to leave. If we had been there all day, we probably would have done much better. For the perch, I tied a stinger hook (treb) onto a 3/8 oz jig with about 3" of line. Used a whole crawler and bounced it on the bottom. Didn't miss a single hit after I did that and caught every fish on the stinger.

If I were you, I'd still call the marina and tell them how big your boat is and see what they think. We rented a pontoon, but I watched a guy launch a 17ft boat while I was there.

We launched at Jamestown and as far as Pymy goes it's the only launch i would be using right now. As far as depth for those eyes goes dont be afraid to fish a little shallower.. you would be amazed as to how shallow those fish were. I was a little shocked myself, but find some quick drop offs into open water and you should be able to turn a few..

Launching out of Jamestown tomorrow. Initial plan is to follow slabs advice and find the 20-25' break (thanks slab). Be using minnows crawlers & gulp. Any other helpful advice?

Fished from 7:30 to 5:00, not a single Crappie or Eye, marked lots of fish just couldn't convince them to bite. Picked up lots of cats with a crawler on a floating jig head drug along the bottom. Wasn't the day I had been hoping for but was still fun. Tight lines & God bless. John

Was there today too. Fishing was tougher today than the last time i was there. Worked hard to get our crappies, gills, and perch. Fished from 8ft to 16ft over brushpiles and old stumps and got 25 today. 18 of which were crappies. Fished close to ten diffrent spots to get them.

lol....tuesday afternoon....weird...deep water, kept marking suspended fish (17.5 to 20 ft deep, fish were around 13.5 to 15.5 deep), was trolling some harnesses on the bottom so I put out my sidewinder planers with a 3/4 oz inline sinker and a harness back about 75-85 ft behind the planer, (trying to get those suspended fish), I managed to catch about 7 catfish (nice ones too), all on the planers, these have to be the suspended fish I was marking, there is no way @ 1.5 to 1.8 mph a 3/4 oz lead gets to the bottom in 20 ft with 30 lb braid. One little walleye and a small perch too, all on the planers, nothing on the bottom.
