Hey all,

Looking to do some cat fishing Sunday on the yough river, and was just wondering if it would be worth trying up at Ohio Pyle or to go somewhere else and try my luck ?

ohiopyle isn't your best bet. it's trout water. the few places you might get into some cats are few and far between. i stay anywhere between c'ville and little boston. it's more cat friendly water. there are some decent spots towards sutersville.

Thanks for the info ! We have fished the sutersville area a good bit this year with no luck but some snapping turtles . Was hoping to try south some more but that doesn't look too promising either. Thanks again !

I was up at ohiopyle yesterday and I saw a very deep hole past the first set of rapids after the cucumber falls stream empties into the river, I really wanted to fish it. The place looked like a scene in river monsters lol. Very calm, deep, and clear.. There has to be something in there

i've heard of few guys doing well at bridgeport dam, it's a mix of channels and bullheads. you just need that stupid night permit to fish it after dark.

There was a 9 LB Rainbow caught out of that hole some time ago.  I saw the largest stream trout that I ever have in that hole as well.  Easily 35 in long 10-12 lb Rainbow.

I have caught some nice ones out of that hole next to the tree with all the roots sticking out. At the end of the trail and strait down to the river, the hole is sweet.

Are we still talking about Catfish, or is it Trout? I think the cats are only from South Connellsville down. I never caught or heard of any close to Ohiopyle.
