New State Brook Trout Record

May 5th a brook trout of 5 lbs 14 ozs was caught on a pond in Hamilton County.  The fish was weighed and verified by DEC as a brook trout and not a splake for the new record.

    Yeah i heard about that myself ed.... thats pretty awesome. I hear large brookies are more plentiful in NY then theyve been in quite sometime
