Tough...but seeing a lot more.....
My neighbor, 1 1/2 miles up the road said he was out coyote hunting a few weeks ago and at 4am he had 7 coyotes in the field at one time. He also saw, within the past month, black bear. One was chewing on a fresh road kill doe. The next week he saw a mom and her cub in a field. My son almost hit a coyote near the end of our driveway last Sunday
Spoke with another neighbor, one mile the other way, she saw a bobcat cross the road in front of her.
I got up early, as usual, this past Monday and listen to a gobbler going off every 20 seconds for 2 hours. I box called a few times and within 5 minutes had a hen in my front yard, less than 20 feet from my chair. A half hour later I had two LARGE red tails screaming and roosting in the yard.
I think the lack of rain and the high temps are having its toll on wildlife also.
An observation: Has anyone been seeing chipmunks???
