elk creek launch

were able to launch at elk last year, but heard the channel is very low, just wondered if anyone has been able to launch, its really convenient for us guys with smaller boats,? thanks

    The launch is a little low right at the dock itself but the rest of the channel is OK for small boats as long as you watch the bottom. I launched a 16 foot mod-V on Sat & Sun with no problems. I also witnessed maybe 6 or 7 other boats launching from there and some looked like they had a pretty deep hull for a small boat.

    I have witnessed sevetal boats that looked like they were having trouble at the mouth. Proceed with caution.

    thanks for comebacks fellows, we have a 16 ft deep v.   Dan at elk creek also said it was shaky at best .

    just wondered if any of you guys have launched at of elk since last posts? dont imagine conditions have improved with no rain etc, thanx john, new castle,pa
