Lake Aurthur Channel Cats

I was reading about all the channel cats and don't get to the Lake much. I decided to go yesterday so I got a bucket of shiners and spent a few hours drifting different parts of the lake from the south launch. Caught nada. What is a better bait for the channel cats.
Thanks for any info you can provide.

Cut the shiner in half, hook it through the eyes. Chicken livers work amazing. As do cut up bluegills. Anything dead and smelly will attract them. I live 2 minutes from arthur and target channel cats probably 80% of the time.

These all caught with a cut up bluegill or chicken livers.

I always had luck using the power bait dough ball looking things or whatever other brands make that stuff. I threw it out one pole on top and one on the bottom I always seemed to at least get a few.

We caught some huge channels this year while striper fishing.  I usually catch them by surprise while bass fishing, usually on a gulp worm, or on an alewife while fishin at night.

Malkol Use fresh blue gills and sunfish and live on another rod  to catch them big channels during the day. Kinda the same at night or you can catch them on shinny bomber's   Pass on the liver it just is not worth the smell  Dave
