midday arthur?

I live about 4 miles from lake arthur. Im there about 4 to 5 times a week. That being said, I've never really fished there between the hours of 1 and 5ish. Im off today and was thinking about heading over. Worth it?

My youngest son & my brother took the canoe out Monday from 1:00 pm 'till 4:00 pm & my son caught his biggest L/M ever from there & my brother caught his first Pikes in his life. So yes it could be worth it.

Not to hijack your thread, but I might as well ask the general qusetion:  is it even a good idea to fish during the middle of the day?  i've always understood that fish are most active early in the morning and in the evening/after dark.

Being that most pro fishing derbies,Bass & eyes, are held during the day & end around 5pm,it must be o.k. fishing then. Besides, pretty hard catching them from home.  sam

We got into 3 catfish, 3 stripers (22"&25"), two LM last Thursday trolling.  We had three other big fish lost.    All caught from noon to 4pm.  I think it only matters that you find the fish.  They eat anytime.

what kind of stuff were you trolling jmay?  i've been messing around with bait walkers with minnows and spinner/worm combos getting cats and hybrids as well.  haven't gone to cranks yet.

We were just trolling lindy rigged, medium minnows.  I think we just found a school of them by dumb luck.  I'm still shocked the big 25" striper was interested in the minnow.

I had a sabiki rig out on an ultralight trying to catch Alewives.  Something got on that and peeled off half the line and broke it before I got to it..  That was fun.
