LIttle Sugar

Left the cell phone at home (sorry customers) and finally got to go fishing. Brought home 5 avg. stockies. While cleaning my fish I notice and bright orange ball at the end of the stomach of one of my trout. Thought it was gulp, but when I cut the stomach open out fell a small orange rubber ball about the size of a salmon egg. Had a small tear in it, probably from a hook. Can't help but wonder if the fish would have passed it or if it would have died a slow death. Do these actually get used for bait???

http://www.fishusa.com/Be...wer-Eggs-Magnum_p.html like these? I've used em in lakes and stained streams before, they work fairly well and stay on a hook much better than a real egg. They're very squishy, I dunno if rubber is quite how I would describe them...
