yough near west newton

Hey guys and gals, every year we've done the hazelbakers canoe trip from Dawson to Layton.  This year we are adding the yough river outfitters short trip (4 miles).  I haven't done this one before.  We will be on the water around 830am, and floating back down to the shop.  Can anyone give me a little guidance on what kind of water we will be floating through?  Id imagine the terrain is similar to the hazelbakers float, but Im curious.  And if you've done the trip, how long it took you?  We plan to fish it hard, and drop anchor at good spots.  If you prefer a PM, thats cool.  Thanks for your help.

Anyone have a little scouting report? I'm NOT interested in your spot, or the hot bait/lure, just a little info on a section of river ive never fished.  West newton area, with astarting point 4 miles upriver of the canoe rental shop.

it's a nice float through there. my wife and i go from smithton to yough outfitters. we can make that trip last all day. if you fished really hard from cedar down to west newton, you could easily make it last 6 hours or more.

We did the 4 mile canoe trip.  Ended up catching a good number of smallies, with a few white bass mixed in.  No trout, i thought someone would get at least one.  Nice day for a float.  Thanks again for the scouting reports.
