State Game Lands

Does anyone know of any State Game Land ponds? I also heard of a small pond near an industrial park near New Kensington that people fish but also heard it is illegal to fish it. I like fishing in small "farm pond" type ponds and lakes. I like fishing where there is little pressure.

There is a small lake with little pressure at Whites bridge at the bottom of 3 mile hill, right above Greenlick. I have never fished it but on occasion have seen a few people there.  sam

There is a very nice one in SGL #95 'Bout 1/2 mile before H.A.  Can't see it from the rd. but should be able to Google Earth it. Use a small canoe there for great results.

Crappie, Isn't most of that lake a propagation area? When I was up there I got very confused as to where you were allowed to fish. Seemed to me that the area closest to the parking area was off limits & there was very limited shore access other than near the small boat launch. Looks like an excelent bass water & deer hunting area.Looks like a person could get lost in that area.I guess my biggest prob. is that I am a cripple & it is very tough for me to get around stuff like that.  sam

    Sam,

That lake is called the Glades & the propagation area is open (MID JUNE) to non powered boats or maybe elec. is allowed. The one I was talking about is on the other side of Harbor Acres & can't be seen from the rd. It is more like lagoons than a lake. My youngest son & I might give it a try within the next few weeks with the Sportpales.

If you wish to not post it on here. You could private message me. I will not tell anyone else if you don't want it told.  As for the one at the bottom of 3 mile. Do you make a left or right? I am from Smithton So that is close for me. Never heard of Harbor Acres. Where is that?

Harbor Acres is a little north east ov the town West Sunbury Butler county 308 to N 138 'bout 1/2 mile make left onto Meals Rd. stay right at the Y and when u come to T it is 'bout right in front ov ya. It's stocked spring, fall & winter with trout & has the normal farm pond fish also. No boat motors allowed. I was talking about fishing a smaller pond & some lagoon type water very close to it with the canoes. Very fishy lookin' water indeed.

the ponds at the bottom of 3 mile would be on the right if you're coming from mount pleasant. whites bridge rd. if i were you, i'd just bring corn and an UL rod. the ponds are mostly filled with dink carp.
